Mirko De Tomassi, M.A.

Responsibilities

Mirko De Tomassi is a Ph. D. student specialized in Maya Archaeology and Digital Archaeology. Currently, Mirko's project focuses on the mortuary practices of the pre-Hispanic Maya. Under the supervision of the chair Prof. Dr. Lercari Mirko is building a 3D database which would include three-dimensional models of burials and funerary elements, integrated with 2D and written record, which would enhance the effectiveness of data analysis, storage, and curation.
Mirko is trained in field-archaeology and participated in field excavations in Italy and Mexico. He also has knowledge of archaeothanatology (field-anthropology), basic osteology, and human anatomy.
